Springtime Is Here

Spring is finally here…Praise God!!!

While driving home from the mall last week, my daughter made the statement “Mom…after such a long hard winter, it’s like all of the sudden things are green and pretty and I am soooo ready for it!!!!”  Even with all the drama of a 15 year old, I had to totally agree with her statement.

As I continued to drive, I began to realize the truth in this statement in all aspects of our lives.  Sometimes the difficulties of living single can seem like a “long hard winter”.  April often brings with it a long stretch of rainy days and, although we may grow weary, we know that these April showers are needed for the growing of the May flowers.

This is so true in our own lives.  As we look back, we will see that our growth came as a result of the difficult times.  The good news is that the seasons change.  If you are in a difficult season of your life right now, maybe it would help to look at is as a “time of preparation”.  Preparation for what??? you ask, (see I know how you singles think!)  Well, unfortunately I don’t know the answer to that question but I do know THE ONE who does.  If we remain focused on our relationship with GOD and HIS will for our lives, we will always be prepared for the change of seasons.

God may be answering your prayers in three different ways - Yes, No, or Wait.  Wait is often the most difficult answer to hear.   The one things that we know is that He is always listening and Patience is a fruit of the Spirit.  Like any other fruit, it must be grown in season.

Isaiah 30:18 says: Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion.  For the Lord is a God of justice.  Blessed are all who wait for him.  NIV

Isn’t it awesome to know that the same God who changed that “long hard winter” into beautiful Springtime is in control of your life too!

morrisPeace and Blessings …

Rita

  1. It’s during the “winter ” that we often times realize what we are truly made of. Thru struggles, hurts, disapointments and hardships, it’s then that our faith is tested and we grow in knowledge of who God really is.

His grace will warm us like a blanket until the spring arrives and we feel His renewed touch.
Good article. I enjoy reading them.

  2. Amen! so true…sometimes being single does compare to a ‘long hard winter’, but God is so good! An old popular song says “…the waiting is the hardest part…” wonder if the author of that song realized he was actually sharing a very scriptural truth? :-)

Love the new site! and I’m so thankful for His Grace & Strength in my life!

Excited about the dance Friday night! :-)

  3. Rita,
